Sh. V. K. Shunglu (Retd. IAS) served as Comptroller & Auditor General of India until March 15, 2002. He joined Indian Administrative Services (IAS), the premier civil service responsible for public administration at the Provincial and Central level. He also served in various provincial and Union Government as Principal Secretary and held senior position in Finance, Planning, Taxation, Industry, Energy, Health & Family Welfare and Industry & Company Affairs. He represented Govt. of India at International Bodies likes Asian Development Bank, IMF/World Bank to name a few. Sh. Shunglu was conferred the John Kandusch Award by INTOSAI in 1998 for his achievements in Supreme Audit Institutions. He made phenomenal contribution as the Hony. Treasurer, Vice Chairman and the Member Trustee at the DPS society.
Prof. B. P. Khandelwal has served in innumerable responsible capacities as Director and Secretary in the field of education in the UP Govt. He has represented several academic bodies in India in Elementary, Secondary and Higher Education and International Organizations abroad. He also had a stint as CBSE Chairman. He has published work on Economics and school based evaluation, over two dozen academic papers and articles on aspects of elementary, secondary and higher education, value education, vocational education, examination and evaluation. He has been awarded `Life Time Achievement In Education' and Saraswati Ratnabhishek by COBSE. He is a member of DPS Society and Chairman, DPS Gandhinagar.
Sh. Goenka though a renowned industrialist, constituted Bhola Ram Education Society in 2003 with a vision to contribute in education sector which he thought was the best possible way to serve the society. Thus far, he has established two DPS Schools, one in Gandhinagar and the other in Asansol with state-of-the art infrastructure. Realizing the dearth of good dental colleges for aspiring dentists in the state, he founded Goenka Research Institute of Dental Science and a Hospital, and yet another Ayurveda college to preserve our ancient traditional way of healing by the name of Manjushri Research Institute of Ayurvedic Science. His quest as a philanthropist is yet not over.
His Excellency Mr. Vladimir Marić is the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to India. Mr Marić is a scholar himself and received Outstanding Scholar of the Year award in 2001 from the University System of Georgia. He has been associated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia since 2004. He served his nation in important official capacities in Belgium, Lebanon, Slovenia, Syria, Sri lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. Mr Marić speaks English and French. He has tremendous contributions in the cultural and sports development programmes in the countries he was posted to.
Prof. Marmar Mukhopadhyay is one of the best known educational thinkers in contemporary India. Former Director of NIEPA and Chairman of National Open School; Vice President of ICDE, (Oslo); Member of the Steering Committee of IMAGE (Washington DC), he is Director and Chairman of Educational Technology and Management Academy, Gurgaon.
He has been involved in Indian educational policy making and planning at the highest level since 1986. He was chairman of the CABE sub-committee on Universalization of Secondary Education. He is the author of India’s ambitious educational satellite, EDUSAT. He has been member of various Working Committees on education of the Planning Commission. Mukhopadhyay represented India in many important international forums.
Prof. Sudesh Mukhopadhyay is former Head - Inclusive Education, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA); former Chairperson Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI); Associate of London University Institute of Education on Special Education and Visiting Fellow to Manitoba University, Canada. She was on the faculty of NCERT. Till recently she was the Director of SCERT, Delhi (An autonomous body of GNCT of Delhi). Prof. Mukhopadhyay specializes in Education of the Disabled, Teacher Education and School Quality. She has been consulted by the World Bank and UNICEF and contributed more than hundred papers to national and international publications outlets.
Dr Uma Tuli was the first non-bureaucrat appointed by the Government of India as Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities from April 2001 to April 2005.
Dr Tuli is the founder of Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust rendering rehabilitative services at Delhi and Gwalior with the holistic approach of providing integrated education, vocational training, medical care and self-employment in one premises. With this pioneering concept of integrated education, the schools run by Amar Jyoti in Delhi and Gwalior have an equal number of children with and without disability studying together. The intellectually challenged are socially integrated in the same premises as per their special needs.
Dr Stephen Shore is a professor of special education at Adelphi University, New York. He himself is on the Autism Spectrum.He has written the books that include: College for Students with Disabilities, Understanding Autism for Dummies, Ask and Tell, and Beyond the Wall.
Currently, he serves on the board of Autism Speaks, and is one of the first two autistic board members in its history, looking to improve the potential of those on the autism spectrum. He once headed the Asperger's Association of New England and was on the board of the Autism Society of America.
Mr Vincent McMahon is the Head, Govan High Language and Communication Resource, Scotland, UK . Vince McMahon has been a teacher for over 30 years and has taught in Scotland, England, Tanzania, Zambia and New Zealand. For the past 12 years he has been based in Govan Language & Communication Resource (formerly known as Govan Autism Unit). This is a co-located unit attached to a mainstream secondary school. He has been the head of the LCR for 5 years.
He chairs the Local Community Joint Support Team which is an advisory body for all educational establishments in the community, focusing on young people who have support needs which their school are having difficulty meeting. He is also a member of the City Inclusion Group, which is a panel comprising of selected school heads and deputy principal educational psychologists who make decisions on changes in placement for additional support need provisions within the Glasgow City. Mr McMahon is passionate about the rights of young people with additional support needs.
Dr A. K. Kundra is the President of The City High School Bolarum, Andhra Pradesh established in 1982 and also the Founder President of Autism Ashram & Autism Friendly Village, Shamirpet. It is Asia’s largest residential home for autistic adults and children.
He is a social entrepreneur and philanthropist with a passion to work with children and adults with Autism.
He is the President of SimplyGive Foundation, an online portal to help raise funds for charities working in the areas of child disability in India. Dr Kundra is a trainer and an author as well. He has designed a programme on Adult and Sexuality issues among autistic adolescents and young adults. He has deep interest in Health issues among ageing autistic adults; behavioural issues in aggressive and self-injurious autistic adults, particularly with Rage disorders and managing behaviours. He has written hundreds of articles on practical autism in various media.
Dr Kundra is presently setting up an Autism Ashram in Turlock, California USA.
Ms Kavita Sharma is the Founder Director of Project - ‘PRAYAS’, a Computer and iPad Training Center for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Kavita Sharma is the Vice President (North) of Autism Society of India; she has been a mother of two sons with Autism Spectrum Disorders; while recognizing the need of parent training, she trained herself to become a special educator and since then she has been actively involved with organizations like Spastics Society of Karnataka, KPAMRC in various capacities.
She Specialized in Pre vocational and Vocational Programs for individuals with Autism and related disorders. Ms Kavita Sharma developed an innovative training programme for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders through Computers and iPad which leads to effective early intervention and caters to the skills related to employability, freely available as an on line educational resource at www.learn4autism.com. It is one of the best practice model in the country.
Ms Radha Tandon is the founder of “PRAANGAN EDUCATION TRUST‟, for children with Special Education Needs (SEN). She is also associated with GMERS (Gujarat Medical Education & Research Society), Baroda as an honorary visiting Faculty.
Ms Radha Tandon visited specialized schools in the UK and the USA to get acquainted with the current Best Practices in teaching SEN children. She has conducted a number of workshops and seminars for teachers and parents of children with Special Educational Needs.
Shri D N pandey is very senior I.A.S officer belonging to 1985 batch. He is at present working as the commissioner for persons with Disablities, Gujarat State in the rank of additional chief secretary to the government. Prior to that. he has worked in various fields of public administration like fierier:, revenue. relief and rehab'ilitation. social justice. cottage industries and commerce. Health and family welfare. ecology and urban administration in addition to working as district Collector and district development officer.
